OBITUARY

Dorothy L. Lynn, 86, of Beallsville, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018, in Donnell House, Washington.

She was born May 24, 1932, in West Brownsville, a daughter of the late Wilbur W. "Bob" and Eleanor K. Shriver Miller.

Mrs. Lynn was a 1950 graduate of Beallsville High School. She was a very active participant in Beallsville Alumni Association and helped organize the annual Beallsville Alumni banquet.

She was formerly employed by Sears and Bon Ton in Washington and formerly served as tax collector for Beallsville Borough.

Dorothy was a member of the former Beallsville Presbyterian Church, and she most recently attended Beallsville United Methodist Church.

Very active in community events, she was a member of the founding group of Beallsville Civic Center. She led the group responsible for installing the first honor roll, honoring all Beallsville residents who served during all wars, and was responsible for Beallsville's display of the American flag throughout the town.

Mrs. Lynn was a former member of Richeyville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, served as Judge of Elections for Beallsville for many years and was a longtime member of Beth-Center Kickoff Club. She also served as den mother for the Beallsville Cub Scout pack.

Dorothy enjoyed baking and decorating cakes for all occasions, including weddings, birthdays and graduations. Recently, she passed her time talking on the telephone daily with her family and many friends.

On June 10, 1950, she married Ralph "Jack" Lynn, who survives. They celebrated 68 years of marriage together.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two children, R. Dennis Lynn (Karen) of Belle Vernon and Donna J. Boiaroff (Steve Sr.) of Marianna; four grandchildren, Elizabeth L. Colonna (James), Steve Boiaroff Jr., Aaron M. Lynn (Danielle) and Andrew J. Boiaroff (Courtney); two sisters, Ann Luketich of Beallsville and Sandra Rush (John) of McDonald, Ohio; a brother, Barry D. Miller (Mary) of Scenery Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are four brothers, Bobby, Paul, Larry and Bill Miller.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home Ltd., 2830 Main Street, Beallsville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, with the Rev. Gary Gregg officiating. Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
